Aftercare Advice
The healing often continues long after the session itself as Reiki increases awareness, spiritual development and works to re-balance your body. Everyone is unique and each session may feel different so be open and remember, Reiki does what is best for us.
What to expect
Part of the healing process for you may be your body releasing toxins into your bloodstream faster than they can be processed, triggering detoxification symptoms. This will pass - it is a sign of the body cleansing old stagnant energy, ready to release it and create a welcome space for new, higher vibrational energy for your highest and greatest good.
It is beneficial to drink a little more water than you usually do, to assist the detoxification process.

Some people may experience one or more of the following healing and detox symptoms during and/or after a session:

-
Relaxed / zen / calm.
-
You may feel hot or cold.
-
Tingly / heat sensations / goosebumps.
-
You may feel tears / cry or laughter but not be sure why - let it flow, embrace the healthy release of energy.
-
Feeling lighter (after my first session I felt lighter, like a weight had been lifted that I wasn't even conscious of. This really confirmed my curiosity for Reiki and led me to learn more and train as a practitioner).
-
Feeling more energetic or euphoric.
-
Fatigue, the urge to rest or sleep more - honour this, our body does deep healing whilst we sleep.
-
Headaches, dizziness, or nausea.
-
Skin detox symptoms such as blemishes, pimples or mild rashes.
-
Aches and pains throughout body.
-
Temporary "flu-like" symptoms.

The symptoms listed above are all great indicators that your body is integrating the healing energy and bringing itself back into balance.

To continue to help facilitate your healing process, please follow the steps below after a session:
1.
Be kind and gentle with yourself, gift yourself time to tune-in and reflect if anything comes up, especially emotional.
3.
Avoid toxins such as caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol for a few days.
5.
Eat nutritional light foods where possible so the body uses its energy for healing.
7.
Having a sea salt, Epsom salt bath or foot bath (if not bath), will aid in detoxification and reduce symptoms.
9.
Above all, trust your intuition, that knowing voice inside we can all tap into. If you are being called to rest, rest. If you are filled with energy and ideas immediately after your treatment, then explore and indulge in healthy outlets for this! You know you best.
2.
If you have any spiritual or religious practices such as tai chi, yoga, meditation, or prayer, spend time nurturing your spiritual connection with those activities.
4.
Avoid eating a heavy meal directly after a treatment. You may wish to avoid red meat/dairy.
6.
Continue all current medical treatment plans (Reiki is not a substitute for medical or mental health care).
8.
Make time to write. Journal what you experienced and how you feel now - it works wonders to help process the experience. It can be useful to look back on previous sessions and see the changes you are making along the way.
10.
Remember to note down anything that comes up for you to discuss with me if/when you receive your next healing.
I am available to discuss anything related to your treatment, even after the session is over.
You are more than welcome to get in touch. I'd love to hear how you are getting on - every session is a learning opportunity and I am so blessed and grateful to connect with you and your energy.
